I was born in the country, and spent most of my younger years living in the country, but I have lived in small towns most of my life. My fondest memories are of my country living. In saying that, I can't deny that I love the conveniences of living in the city. No septic tank to worry about, which we didn't have as a child (we had an outdoor toilet). No well pump to worry about, which we didn't have ( we had a bucket with a rope on it). We didn't have to worry about not getting high speed Internet (we didn't even know what a computer was.) Just kidding, I was born B.C. (before computers). We don't have to worry about driving 5 or 6 miles to get a loaf of bread (we didn't eat light bread, we ate biscuits). I can be at the store in about 4 or 5 minuets from where I live now. I don't have to worry about going out on the coldest day of the year to cut wood for the old wood heater, in order to stay warm. This to was before chain saws, at least my dad didn't know they made them. We used an old 2 man crosscut saw. By the way I still have that old saw hanging up in my garage. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I miss country living as much as I thought I did. Jim
